THE MESSENGER
Chapter

Symphony
Lisa asked her dad to take the video and put it on his computer. She wanted him to pick out a frame of the video that could be printed for Lisa to use to make a sketch.
Lisa spent several days creating a drawing that included her sitting on the bench with her special bluebird, and several other bluebirds around her. When she got ready to put a title on her creation, she was having a hard time figuring out what the title should be. She went back to her mom and dad and asked if they had a suggestion. They suggested that the title for her drawing should be “Symphony“. Lisa liked that suggestion and decided to use it.
Lisa‘s mom took her to the store to buy a frame for her drawing.
Lisa and her family thought it turned out really well. Lisa was wondering what she should do with her framed drawing. It wasn’t a drawing that should just be put in her room, or sold to somebody. It needed to be put in a very special place where lots of people could see it, and hopefully learn some things from it.

Lisa knew that the message from the bluebirds was primarily for her. She needed to realize that from time to time she was giving off some bad notes in the symphony of her friends. She remembered that she was really harsh to Frank. She needed to go back and talk to him and ask him to forgive her.
One day when Lisa was in the park, she saw Frank.
Lisa went over to Frank and said, “Hey, Frank. I just wanted to say that I haven’t been speaking in a nice friendly way to you recently. Please forgive me.”
Frank responded, “Sure, Lisa. I haven’t been very nice to you either. And the other day when I said something nasty to you, your friends were there. That wasn’t good either. “
Lisa said, “My dad did a video of me sitting in our backyard when some bluebirds came and sang songs to me. I did a drawing from that video. I titled the drawing “Symphony“, because we as friends need to be speaking things that are pleasant and not sour notes toward each other.”
Then Lisa added, “I have been wondering what I should do with the drawing. I’m thinking that it might be helpful to put it in a place where people can see it often, and we can remind each other that as friends we need to be acting in encouraging ways. And supporting each other like the musicians do in a symphony. Do you have a suggestion about what I can do with my drawing?”
Frank was really surprised when Lisa asked for his suggestion. He realized that she really was very sincere, and wanting his input. He just wasn’t sure why she trusted him.
Frank finally responded, “Lisa, I think a really good place to put this is in Grandpa’s house. The reason why I think it’s a good place is because Grandpa often seems like the director of a symphony when he is telling his stories, and helping us to understand the things that he has learned in life. What do you think?”
Lisa responded, “Thanks, Frank. I think that’s a fantastic idea! I’m gonna bring my drawing over to Grandpa and show it to him. I will ask him if he thinks it’s a good idea to put it in his house. Hopefully, a lot of us kids will see it when he’s telling his stories.
